Through the general grant process, the W.H.O Foundation recently awarded $160,000 to 10 non-profit organizations dedicated to serving the needs of women and children. The following organizations were this year's deserving recipients.

2000 Feet, Inc.
St. Charles, MO

Provides children with new shoes to help improve their self-esteem and gain confidence.
Grand awarded: $8,500

Bags4kids
California City, CA

Helps children who were removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or homelessness and provides backpacks filled with school supplies, hygiene items, books, clothing items, toys, and more.
Grant awarded: $20,000

Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas
Fayetteville, AR

Provides scholarships to low-income single mothers pursuing a career-related course of study.
Grant awarded $22,500

Goodie Two Shoes Foundation
Las Vegas, NV

Provides disadvantaged children and children in crisis with new shoes and socks – along with other items deemed essential for good health and positive development.
Grant awarded: $10,000

Doctors Without Walls
Santa Barbara, CA

Provides medical care to those who are unsheltered and homeless.

Gabriel's Angels, Inc.
Phoenix, AZ

Delivers healing pet therapy to abused, neglected and at-risk children, nurturing their ability to love and trust to help break the cycle of violence.

Horsemanship Opportunities for Potential Equestrians (HOPE)
Langley, WA

Provides physical, cognitive and emotional development for disabled with special needs through therapeutic horsemanship.

Dallas, TX

Helps women learn to recognize their self-worth, create a positive image, overcome barriers and improve job search skills.

Military Women in Need (MWIN)
Los Angeles, CA

Provides support in the form of housing assistance, resource and referral services, and home visits for female veterans and the survivors of female veterans.
Grant awarded: $20,000

Youth On Their Own (YOTO)
Tucson, AZ

Dedicated to supporting the high school graduation and continued success of homeless youth with financial assistance, basic human needs and guidance.
Grant awarded: $15,000
